#10 Must-have Essential Oils for Beginners

The first 3 basics

These are the best three oils to start with as a beginner to essential oils. They are so versatile and can be used in a lot of common everyday situations.

Lavender. Diffuse a few drops to ease into sleep (goes well with marjoram), add a drop to your moisturizer/cream for a soothing boost, inhale directly form the bottle or add a couple of drops to your pillow to ease tense feelings. Can be used as a perfume aroma if you like!

Peppermint. Energise your day by adding it to a diffuser, soothe mild nausea by taking the beadlets (or duo with ginger for travel sickness) and rub into areas of tension on your neck, shoulders, and head (good for headaches, sinus congestion and as a breath freshener). Great to refresh smelly rooms and garments (think sweaty socks and shoes). If you want a quick boost, inhale a few drops from your hands, add some wild orange for an extra zing.

Lemon. Inhale or use a few drops in the shower to aromatically cleanse your body and give your respiratory system support. Add to water in a spray bottle to clean household surfaces. You can use neat on hard surfaces (not polished!!) to get off those stuborn sticky residues such as stickers off glass. Add to cakes and treats for a lemony zing.
